1993—No. 281

PUBLIC HEALTH ACT 1991—REGULATION

(Relating to mortuaries) NEW SOUTH WALES

[Published in Gazette No. 73 of 1 July 1993]

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the Public Health Act 1991, has been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

RON PHILLIPS, M.P.,

Minister for Health.

The Public Health Regulation 1991 is amended by omitting from

clause 19 (1) the words “registered under the Local Government Act
1919” and by inserting instead the words “approved under the Local
Government Act 1993 ” .

EXPLANATORY NOTE

Currently, mortuaries are required to be registered under the Local Government Act 1919. The Local Government Act 1993 repeals that requirement, requiring instead that mortuaries be “approved”. This Regulation is consequential on that change.
