PUBLIC HEALTH ACT 1991—REGULATION

(Public Health (Scheduled Medical Conditions) Regulation 1991)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council,
and in pursuance of the Public Health Act 1991, has been pleased to

make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

Short title

1. This Regulation may be cited as the Public Health (Scheduled

Medical Conditions) Regulation 1991.

Commencement

2. This Regulation commences on 18 November 1991.

Amendment of Schedule 1 to the Public Health Act 1991

3. Schedule 1 to the Public Health Act 1991 is amended:

(a)

by omitting all the conditions in Category 2 and by inserting instead the following conditions:

Acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS)
Acute viral hepatitis
Adverse event following immunisation
Foodborne illness in two or more related cases

Gastroenteritis among people of any age in an institution (eg.

among persons in educational or residential institutions)

Leprosy Measles

1991—No. 589

Pertussis (Whooping cough)

Syphilis

Tuberculosis

(b) by omitting the following conditions in Category 3:

Haemophilus influenzae:

- epiglottis (blood or cerebrospinal fluid) - meningitis (blood or cerebrospinal fluid) - septicaemia (blood or cerebrospinal fluid)

Hepatitis Delta

Human Immunodeficiency Virus infection

Legionnaires’ disease

Meningococcal disease

- meningitis (blood or cerebrospinal fluid)
- septicaemia (blood or cerebrospinal fluid)

Whooping Cough

(c)

by inserting in Category 3 in appropriate alphabetical order the following conditions:

Cancer
Haemophilus influenzae type b (blood or cerebrospinal fluid)
Hepatitis D (delta)
Hepatitis E
Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection
Legionella infections
Meningococcal infections (blood or cerebrospinal fluid)

Pertussis (Whooping Cough)

Amendment to Schedule 3 to the Public Health Act 1991

4. Schedule 3 to the Public Health Act 1991 is amended: (a) by omitting the following matter:

Category 2 medical conditions Category 3 medical conditions

(b) by inserting in alphabetical order the follwoing notifiable diseases:

Acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS)
Acute viral hepatitis
Adverse event following immunisation
Cholera
Diphtheria
Foodborne illness in two or more related cases

Gastroenteritis among people of any age, in an institution (eg.

among persons in educational or residential institutions)
