Her Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following
Regulation under the Public Finance and Audit Act 1983.

Explanatory note
The object of this Regulation is to remove the requirements that the Electoral Commissioner keep proper books and records in relation to the operations of the Office of the New South Wales Electoral Commission and submit an annual financial report to the Premier and the Auditor-General relating to those operations. The Public Finance and Audit Act 1983 (the Act) will be further amended by proclamation to transfer these responsibilities from the Electoral Commissioner to the New South Wales Electoral Commission, which is a statutory corporation.
This Regulation is made under the Act, including sections 64 (the general regulation-making power) and 45B (which allows the Governor to amend Schedule 3 to the Act by regulation).
