HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the Public Finance and Audit Act 1983, has been pleasedto make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

The Public Finance and Audit Regulation	1984 is amended by omitting
from clause 3 (1) the words “University	Partnerships Pty. Ltd.”.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

At present, University Partnerships Pty. Ltd. is prescribed as a statutory body for the purposes of Division 4 of Part 3 of the Public Finance and Audit Act 1983. The effect of this is that it enables the Auditor-General, if requested to do so by the Treasurer, to inspect and audit the accounts and records of financial transactions of or relating to the company.

The purpose of this Regulation is to remove University Partnerships Pty. Ltd. from the list of statutory bodies prescribed for the purposes of Division 4 of Part 3 of the Act. The company is presently a wholly owned subsidiary company of the University of New England, and the Council of that University is subject to the auditing and accounting requirements of the Act.

This Regulation is made under the Public Finance and Audit Act 1983, including sections 44 (1) and 64 (the general regulation-making power).
