PUBLIC FINANCE AND AUDIT ACT 1983 - REGULATION

(Relating to the New South Wales Capital Works Financing Corporation)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the Public Finance and Audit Act 1983, has been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

The Public Finance and Audit Regulation 1984 is amended by omitting

from clause 3 (1) the words “New South Wales Capital Works Financing

Corporation.".

EXPLANATORY NOTE

At present, the New South Wales Capital Works Financing Corporation is prescribed as a statutory body for the purposes of Division 4 of Part 3 of the Public Finance and Audit Act 1983. The effect of this is that it enables the Auditor-General, if requested to do so by the Treasurer, to inspect and audit the accounts and records of financial transactions of or relating to the Corporation.

The purpose of this Regulation is to remove the New South Wales Capital Works
Financing Corporation from the list of statutory bodies prescribed for the purposes of

Division 4 of Part 3 of the Act.

). This Regulation is made under the Public Finance and Audit Act 1983, including
sections 44 (in particular, section 44 (1)) and 64 (the general regulation making power).
