PUBLIC FINANCE AND AUDIT ACT 1983 - REGULATION

(Relating to the Bush Fire Council)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the Public Finance and Audit Act 1983, has been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

The Public Finance and Audit Act 1953 is amended by omitting from Schedule 2 the words "Bush Fire Council.".

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Regulation is to remove the Bush Fire Council from the statutory bodies subject to the accounting and auditing requirements of the Public Finance and Audit Act 1983. On 11 May 1990, the administrative office attached to the Bush Fire Council was abolished and the Department of Bush Fire Services was created by proclamation under section 49 of the Constitution Act 1902. The accounting and auditing requirements of the Public Finance and Audit Act 1983 relating to Departments are to be applied to the Department of Bush Fire Services by proclamation under that Act.
