Public Finance and Audit (Water

Supply Authorities) Regulation 1997

under the

Public Finance and Audit Act 1983

His Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Public Finance and Audit Act 1983.

Explanatory note

The Council of the City of Gosford and the Council of Wyong are Water Supply Authorities under the Water Supply Authorities Act 1987 and, because of their inclusion in Schedule 2 (Statutory bodies) to the Public Finance and Audit Act 1983, are required to comply with the obligations under Division 3 (General audit of statutory bodies) of Part 3 of the Act relating to the keeping of accounts by statutory bodies and the inspection and audit of those accounts.

The object of this Regulation is:

(a)	to remove the Authorities from Schedule 2 to the Act (Schedule 1 to the Regulation), and
(b)	to enable the Auditor-General, if requested to do so by the Treasurer, to inspect and audit the accounts and records of financial transactions concerning those Authorities by prescribing them as statutory bodies to which Division 4 (Particular audit of statutory bodies, funds and accounts) of Part 3 of the Act applies (Schedule 2 to the Regulation).

This Regulation is made under the Public Finance and Audit Act 1983,

including section 40 (2), 44 (1) and 64 (the general regulation making
power).

1 Name of Regulation

This Regulation is the Public Finance and Audit (Water Supply
Authorities) Regulation 1997.

2 Amendment of Public Finance and Audit Act 1983 No 152

The Public Finance and Audit Act 1983 is amended as set out	in
Schedule 1.

3 Amendment of Public Finance and Audit (General) Regulation 1995

The Public Finance and Audit (General) Regulation I995	is
amended as set out in Schedule 2.

The explanatory note does not form part of this Regulation.
