His Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Public Finance and Audit Act 1983.

Explanatory note

The object of this Regulation is to prescribe those persons who hold certain positions in the Central Corporate Services Unit, Department of Public Works and Services to be officers of specified public sector authorities for the purposes of exercising functions under the Public Finance and Audit Act 1983 relating to committing or incurring expenditure and authorising payments of accounts. The specified authorities include the Treasury, The Cabinet Office and the Premier's Department.

This Regulation is made under the Public Finance and Audit Act 1983,

including sections 4 (1) (the definition of officer of an authority) and 64

(the general regulation making power).

1 Name of Regulation

This Regulation is the Public Finance and Audit (General)
Amendment (Officers of Authorities) Regulation 1998.

2 Amendment of Public Finance and Audit (General) Regulation 1995

The Public Finance and Audit (General) Regulation 1995 is

amended as set out in Schedule 1.

The explanatory note does not form part of this Regulation.

(Clause 2)

Clause 17 Definitions of “authority” and “officer of an authority”

Insert after clause 17 (3):

(4)

For the purposes of the definition of officer of an authority in section 4 (1) of the Act, the persons holding the positions in the Central Corporate Services Unit, Department of Public Works and Services that are specified in Part A of the Table to this subclause are prescribed as officers in relation to the authorities specified in Part B of that Table, but only for the purposes of exercising functions under sections 12 and

13 of the Act.
