PUBLIC DEFENDERS ACT 1995—PROCLAMATION

NEW SOUTH WALES

By deputation from His Excellency the Governor.

I, Rear Admiral PETER ROSS SINCLAIR, A.C., Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Public Defenders Act 1995, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 1 July 1995 as the day on which that Act commences.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Proclamation is to commence the Public Defenders Act 1995, which provides for the appointment and functions of Public Defenders and repeals the Public Defenders Act 1969.
