(Relating to Sydney Electricity and the University of New South Wales)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and on the recommendation of the Treasurer and the respective Minister for each authority declared to have investment powers by this Regulation, and in pursuance of the Public Authorities (Financial Arrangements) Act 1987, has been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

The Public Authorities (Financial Arrangements) Investment Powers Regulation 1990 is amended:

(a)

by omitting from Schedule 2 the matter “Sydney County Council”;

(b)

by inserting in Schedule 3 (in alphabetical order of the names of authorities) the following:

Sydney Electricity

(c)

by inserting in Schedule 4 (in alphabetical order of the names of authorities) the following:

University of New South Wales

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Regulation is to confer on Sydney Electricity the investment powers contained in Part 3 of Schedule 4 to the Public Authorities (Financial Arrangements) Act 1987 and to confer on the University of New South Wales the investment powers contained in Part 4 of that Schedule. Currently Sydney Electricity (formerly the Sydney County Council) has the investment powers contained in Part 2 of that Schedule and the University of New South Wales has no investment powers under the Act.
