278 (Q1t2Ptt i f ns : ANNO VICESIMO QUARTO ELIZABETHAE SECUNDAE REGINAE No. 15 of 1975 An Act to amend the Public Accountants Registration Act 1946-1974 in certain particulars (ASSENTED TO 15TH MAY, 1975] BE IT ENACTED by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:- 1. Short title and citation . (1) This Act may be cited as the Public Accountants Registration Act Amendment Act 1975. (2) The Public Accountants Registration Act 1946-1974 is in this Act referred to as the Principal Act. (3) The Principal Act as amended by this Act may be cited as the Public Accountants Registration Act 1946-1975.

Public Accountants Registration Act Amendment Act 1975, No. 15 279 2.- Amendment of s. 9 . Section 9 of the Principal Act is amended by, in subsection (2), omitting the words " examinations and ". 3. Amendment of s. 20. Section 20 of the Principal Act is amended by, in subsection (1), omitting the words " a fee of such amount as may be prescribed " and substituting the following words:- (a) the prescribed application fee; and (b) a whole year's roll fee ". 4. Amendment , of s. 21. Section 21 of the Principal Act is amended by- . (a) in subsection (1), omitting the words " (which may be on the loose-leaf or card-index system) " and substituting the words ", in such form as it thinks fit,"; (b) inserting after subsection (3) the following subsection:- "'(3A) The secretary shall at all reasonable times on payment of the prescribed fee supply to any person, in such form as the Board thinks fit, a copy of or an extract from the register.". 5. Amendment of s. 22. Section 22 of the Principal Act is amended by, in subsection (5), omitting the words " five pounds " and substituting the words " ten dollars ". 6. Amendment of s. 23. Section 23 of the Principal Act is amended by, in subsection (I )- (a) adding at the end of provision (i) the following paragraph-- "On payment of.the roll fee for any year subsequent to the year of registration there shall be issued to the public accountant, in respect of the year for which that payment has been made, an annual practising certificate in the prescribed form.". (b) in provision (ii), (1) omitting the words " and on registration. a proportionate amount of the roll fee based on the period remaining in that year to a whole year " and substituting the words " a whole year's roll fee "; (ii) omitting the words " subsection (I) " and substituting the words " provision (i) ". 7. Amendment of Schedule . amended by- (a) in clause 3, The Schedule to the Principal Act is

280 Public Accountants Registration Act Amendment Act 1975, No. 1 _` (i) in paragraph (a), omitting the words "the University of Queensland " and substituting the following words:- any university or college or institute of advanced education or other examining institute situated in a State or Territory of the ComnEEnwealth or any other country "; (ii) omitting paragraph (b); (b) in claaise 4, omitting the words " of examinations and "; (c) in ciatse 5, subclause (12), omitting paragraph (c); (d) omitting clauses 6-12.
