PSYCHOLOGISTS ACT 1989—REGULATION
(Relating to applications for registration)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the Psychologists Act 1989, has been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

Commencement
1. This Regulation commences on 9th July, 1993.
Amendments
2. The Psychologists Regulation 1990 is amended:
| (a) | by omitting clause 5 (1) and by inserting instead the following subclause: |
(1) An application for registration under the Act (including an application by a person who is conditionally registered under the Act) must be in the approved form and be accompanied by a fee of $100. The application is to be made by sending it by post to or lodging it at the office of the Board.
| (b) | by inserting after clause 5 the following clause: Application for conditional registration |
5A. (1) An application for conditional registration under the Act
must be in the approved form and be accompanied by a fee of:
(a) $100, unless paragraph (b) applies; or
(b)
$40 in the case of an application by a person who is already conditionally registered under the Act.

(2) The application is to be made by sending it by post to or
lodging it at the office of the Board.
EXPLANATORY NOTE
The object of this Regulation is to amend the Psychologists Regulation 1990:
(a) to make it clear that an application for registration as a psychologist under the Act by a person who is already conditionally registered as a psychologist under the Act must be accompanied by the prescribed fee of $100; and
(b) to remove the requirement that an application for registration be presented in person at the office of the Psychologists Registration Board; and
(c) to prescribe a fee of $100 for an original application for conditional registration under the Act and a fee of $40 for an application for any further period of conditional registration under the Act.
This Regulation is made under the Psychologists Act 1989, including section 32
(2) (b), (g) and (h).
