    1Name of Regulations [see Note 1]

 These Regulations are the Protection of the Sea (Prevention of Pollution from Ships) (Orders) Regulations 1994.

2Commencement

 These Regulations commence on 10 January 1995.

3Interpretation

 In these Regulations, unless the contrary intention appears:

Act means the Protection of the Sea (Prevention of Pollution from Ships) Act 198 3.

4Offences
  • (1)

    A person must not fail to comply with a provision of an order, made under subsection 34 (1) of the Act, that is expressed to be a penal provision.

Penalty:   50 penalty units.

  • (2)

    An offence against subregulation (1) is an offence of strict liability.

Note   For strict liability, see section 6.1 of the Criminal Code.
