Operations Amendment (Littering) Act
2000 No 20—Proclamation
GORDON SAMUELS, Governor I, the Honourable Gordon Samuels AC, CVO, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Protection of the Environment Operations Amendment (Littering) Act 2000 do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 1 July 2000 as the day on which that Act commences, except for the following provisions:
| (a) | so much of Schedule 1 [9] as inserts sections 146A, 146B and 146C into the Protection of the Environment Operations Act 1997, |
| (b) | so much of Schedule 2 [4] as inserts matter relating to sections 146A, 146B and 146C into Schedule 1 to the Protection of the Environment Operations (Penalty Notices) Regulation 1999. |

Explanatory note
The object of this proclamation is to commence the Protection of the Environment Operations Amendment (Littering) Act 2000 except those amendments that relate to proposed sections 146A–146C to be inserted into the Protection of the Environment Operations Act 1997. Those proposed sections create offences relating to the depositing of advertising material.
