I, General The Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Ret’d), Governor of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 (1) of the Protection of the

Environment Operations Amendment (Asbestos Waste) Act 2018, do, by this my Proclamation,
appoint 25 January 2019 as the day on which the whole of that Act, except Schedule 1 [11],

commences.

Explanatory note

The object of this Proclamation is to commence the whole of the Protection of the Environment Operations

Amendment (Asbestos Waste) Act 2018 on 25 January 2019, except for an amendment that relates to matters

to be considered by a court when sentencing offenders.
