PROTECTION OF THE ENVIRONMENT ADMINISTRATION

ACT 1991 No. 60—PROCLAMATION

I, Rear Admiral PETER ROSS SINCLAIR, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Protection of the Environment Administration Act 1991, do, by this my Proclamation:

(a)

appoint 1 March 1992 as the day on which the uncommenced provisions of that Act commence, except as provided by paragraph (b); and

(b)

appoint 1 July 1992 as the day on which item (2) of the amendments to the Environmental Restoration and Rehabilitation Trust Act 1990 in Schedule 3, and section 40 in its application to that item, commence.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Proclamation is to commence the main part of the Act on 1 March 1992 (including the provisions relating to the constitution of the Environmental Protection Authority and the abolition of the State Pollution Control Commission). Provisions of the Act relating to the appointment of members of the Board of the Authority and the replacement of the members of the Commission by the members of that Board commenced on 16 December 1991. An amendment to the Environmental Restoration and Rehabilitation Trust Act 1990 relating to the object of the Trust is to commence on 1 July 1992.
