PROTECTION OF THE ENVIRONMENT ADMINISTRATION

ACT 1991—PROCLAMATION

NEW SOUTH WALES

I, Rear Admiral PETER ROSS SINCLAIR, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Protection of the Environment Administration Act 1991, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 16 December 1991 as the day on which the following provisions of that Act commence:

(a) Part 1;
(b) section 15;
(c) section 18;

(d) Schedule 1;

(e) item (4) (a) of the amendments to the Public Sector Management Act 1988 in Schedule 3, and section 40 in its application to that item;
(f) clause 3 of Part 2 of Schedule 4, and section 41 in its application

to that clause.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The effect of the above proclamation is to commence the provisions of the Act

that relate to:

(a) the appointment of members of the Board of the Environment Protection Authority (including the Director-General); and
(b) the replacement of the members of the State Pollution Control Commission by the members of that Board, pending the commencement of the provisions that abolish that Commission and establish the Environment Protection Authority.
