Prostitution Control (Amendment) Regulations

2002

The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1. Objective

The objective of these Regulations is to clarify advertising requirements for prostitution service providing businesses.

2. Authorising provisions

These Regulations are made under sections 18 and

90 of the Prostitution Control Act 1994.

3. Principal Regulations

In these Regulations, the Prostitution Control
Regulations 19951 are called the Principal

Regulations.

4. Commencement

These Regulations come into operation on
2 September 2002.

5. Advertising Controls

(1) For regulation 10(4) and (5) of the Principal

Regulations substitute—

"(4) An advertisement for a business carried on

by a prostitution service provider must not—

(a) contain a photographic or other pictorial representation of a person unless it is restricted to the head and shoulders; and
(b)

contain a photographic or other person unless that person has given written consent for that advertisement and a copy of the signed consent has been given to that person.

(5) Apart from an advertisement that appears in

outdoor advertising or in an electronic carried on by a prostitution service provider must not exceed a size of 18 centimetres by 13 centimetres.".
