PROHIBITED WEAPONS ACT 1989—REGULATION
(To prohibit the possession and use of certain sprays)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the Prohibited Weapons Act 1989, has been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

Schedule 1 to the Prohibited Weapons Act 1989 is amended:
| (a) | by inserting initem(40)after the words “irritant matter” the words “(not being an irritant matter referred to in item (41))”; |
(b) by inserting after item (40) the following item:
(41) Anything designed or intended as a defence or anti-personnel spray that is capable of discharging by any means any irritant matter comprising or containing any one or more of the following substances in liquid, powder, gas or chemical form:
chloroacetophenone, known as CN
orthochlorobenzalmalononitrile, known as CSdypenylaminechloroarsone, known as DM or Adamsite
oleoresin capsicum, known as OC.
EXPLANATORY NOTE
The object of this Regulation is to make 4 kinds of defence or anti-personnel sprays prohibited weapons for the purposes of the Prohibited Weapons Act 1989 and so to prohibit their possession and use.
The Regulation is made under section 3 (4) (a) and (b) of the Prohibited
Weapons Act 1989.
