PROHIBITED WEAPONS ACT 1989 - REGULATION

(Allowing fisheries inspectors without permits to

carry side-handled batons and handcuffs)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the Prohibited Weapons Act 1989, has been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

Schedule 1 to the Prohibited Weapons Regulation 1990 is amended: by inserting at the end of clause 1 (d) the following word and paragraph:

; and

(e)

inspectors appointed under the Fisheries and Oyster Farms Act 1935,

by omitting from clause 1 the words ''or as officers'' and by
inserting instead the words ", as officers";

by inserting in clause 1 after the words "by that Department'' the

words ''or as inspectors under that Act";
paragraph:
by inserting at the end of clause 3 (d) the following word and

; and

(e)

inspectors appointed under the Fisheries and Oyster Farms Act 1935,

by omitting from clause 3 the words "or as officers'' and by inserting instead the words ", as officers";

(f)

by inserting in clause 3 after the word "duties" the words ''or as inspectors under that Act".

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Regulation is to allow inspectors appointed under the Fisheries and Oyster Farms Act 1935 to carry side-handled batons and handcuffs without

holding permits under the Prohibited Weapons Act 1989.
