PROHIBITED WEAPONS ACT 1989—REGULATION
(Allowing cadets without permits to carry self-loading rifles)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the Prohibited Weapons Act 1989, has been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

Schedule 1 to the Prohibited Weapons Regulation 1990 is amended by
inserting at the end of clause 2 (c) the following word and paragraph:

| (d) | persons who are members of the Naval Reserve Cadets, the Australian Cadet Corps or the Air Training Corps are authorised to possess self-loading rifles, but only for the purposes of the activities of those Cadets or Corps and only in accordance with such guidelines as may be fixed by order of the Commissioner of Police. |
EXPLANATORY NOTE
The object of this Regulation is to allow members of the Naval Reserve Cadets, the Australian Cadet Corps or the Air Training Corps to carry self-loading rifles for the purposes of the activities of the Cadets or Corps and in accordance with any guidelines issued by the Commissioner of Police without holding permits under the Prohibited Weapons Act 1989.
