His Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Prohibited Weapons Act 1989.

Explanatory note
The object of this Regulation is to add certain slingshots and other devices to the list of weapons that are prohibited weapons within the meaning of the Prohibited Weapons Act 1989.
This Regulation is made under the Prohibited Weapons Act 1989, including section 3 (4) (a).

1 Name of Regulation
This Regulation is the Prohibited Weapons Amendment
(Dartslingers and Slingshots) Regulation 1996.
2 Commencement
This Regulation commences on 21 June 1996.
3 Amendment of Prohibited Weapons Regulation 1998
The Prohibited Weapons Regulation 1990 is amended as set out in Schedule 1.

Clause 5 Additional prohibited weapons
Insert at the end of clause 5:
(3) Schedule 1 to the Act is amended by inserting in
appropriate order the following:
(24A) A dart projector known as the Darchery
dartslinger or any similar device.(24B) A slingshot (being a device consisting of an elasticised band secured to the forks of a “Y” shaped frame), other than a slingshot made by a child in the course of play.
