His Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the Professional Standards Act 1994, has been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

Citation
1. This Regulation may be cited as the Professional Standards
Regulation 1995.
Commencement
2. This Regulation commences on 1 May 1995.
Definition
3. In this Regulation:
“the Act” means the Professional Standards Act 1994.
Application fee for approval of occupational liability schemes
4. For the purposes of section 53 (2) (a) of the Act, an application for the approval by the Council of a scheme prepared under section 7 of the Act must be accompanied by a fee calculated at the rate of $10 per member of the occupational association concerned as at the date of the application. Any such fee is non-refundable.

Annual fee
5. (1) For the purposes of section 53 (2) (b) of the Act, the annual fee to be paid to the Council by an occupational association whose members are subject to a scheme in force under the Act is the amount calculated at the rate of $10 per member of the association as at the beginning of the year concerned.
(2) The annual fee is not required to be paid for the first year of a scheme. The first year means the period of 12 months from the date on which the scheme commenced.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
The object of this Regulation is:
| • | to prescribe a fee of $10 per member for applications to approve schemes under the Professional Standards Act 1994 limiting the occupational liability of members of occupational associations; and |
| • | to provide for an annual fee of $10 per member to be paid by an occupational association whose members are subject to such a scheme. |
This Regulation is made under the Professional Standards Act 1994, including
section 53 (2).
This Regulation comprises or relates to matters of a machinery nature, and that are not likely to impose an appreciable burden, cost or disadvantage on any sector of the public.
