Proclamation under the Nature Conservation Act 2002

I, the Lieutenant-Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, by this my proclamation made under sections 11(2) and 19(2) of the Nature Conservation Act 2002  –

(a) declare the area of Crown land specified in Schedule 1 to this proclamation to be reserved land in the class of conservation area; and (b) give the name Tamar Conservation Area to the reserved land referred to in paragraph (a) and reserved land which, immediately before the day on which this proclamation takes effect, was named the Tamar River Conservation Area; and (c) declare that this proclamation takes effect on the day on which its making is notified in the Gazette.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the proclamation) This proclamation –

(a) extends the Tamar River Conservation Area; and (b) renames that conservation area as the Tamar Conservation Area. The Tamar River Conservation Area was proclaimed by Statutory Rules 1999, No. 35, but was partly revoked by Statutory Rules 2002, No. 153.
