Proclamation under the Nature Conservation Act 2002

I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, by this my proclamation made under section 11(2) and 19(1) of the Nature Conservation Act 2002  –

(a) declare so much of the Crown land specified in Part 1 of Schedule 1 to this proclamation as is not already a conservation area to be reserved land in the class of conservation area; and (b) declare the areas of Crown land specified in Parts 2 , 3 , 4 and 5 of Schedule 1 to this proclamation to be reserved land in the class of conservation area; and (c) give the name Southport Lagoon Conservation Area to the land specified in Parts 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 and 5 of Schedule 1 to this proclamation; and (d) declare that this proclamation takes effect on the day on which its making is notified in the Gazette.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the proclamation) This proclamation enlarges the Southport Lagoon Conservation Area by –

(a) extending the boundary to the low-water mark in the vicinity of Blackswan Lagoon; and (b) adding certain areas of Crown land.
