Proclamation under the Nature Conservation Act 2002

I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, by this my proclamation made under sections 11(2) and 21(1) of the Nature Conservation Act 2002 declare –

(a) that the area of Crown land specified in Part 1 of Schedule 1 to this proclamation, being an area of reserved land known as Tinderbox Marine Nature Reserve, ceases to be reserved land; and (b) that the area of Crown land specified in Part 2 of Schedule 1 to this proclamation, being an area of reserved land known as Nine Pin Point Marine Nature Reserve, ceases to be reserved land; and (c) the area of Crown land specified in Part 3 of Schedule 1 to this proclamation to be reserved land in the class of nature reserve and give the name Tinderbox Marine Nature Reserve to that reserved land; and (d) the area of Crown land specified in Part 4 of Schedule 1 to this proclamation to be reserved land in the class of nature reserve and give the name Ninepin Point Marine Nature Reserve to that reserved land; and (e) that this proclamation takes effect on the day on which its making is notified in the Gazette.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the proclamation) This proclamation revokes the existing marine nature reserves at Tinderbox and Nine Pin Point and creates a new Tinderbox Marine Nature Reserve and a new Ninepin Point Marine Nature Reserve.
