Proclamation under the Corrections Act 1997

I, the Administrator in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, by this my proclamation made under section 9(1) of the Corrections Act 1997  –

(a) declare that the premises described in Schedule 1 to this proclamation cease to be a prison; and (b) declare that the place described in Schedule 2 to this proclamation ceases to be a prison; and (c) revoke the proclamation notified in the Gazette as Statutory Rules 2010, No. 38; and (d) declare that this proclamation takes effect on the day on which its making is notified in the Gazette.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the proclamation) This proclamation declares that –

(a) the Hayes Prison Farm ceases to be a prison for the purposes of the Corrections Act 1997 ; and (b) certain land that was part of the former Kilderry Farm Gaol ceases to be a prison for the purposes of the Corrections Act 1997 .
