Commencement Proclamation

under the

Births, Deaths and Marriages Registration Amendment Act 2007
No 5

MARIE BASHIR, Governor I, Professor Marie Bashir AC, CVO, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 (2) of the Births, Deaths and Marriages Registration Amendment Act 2007, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 11 April 2008 as the day on which Schedule 1 [2] and [8] to that Act commence.

Explanatory note

The object of this Proclamation is to commence the provisions of the Births, Deaths and Marriages Registration Amendment Act 2007 that relate to the period within which the Registrar of Births, Deaths and Marriages must be notified of a live birth.

The remaining provisions of the Births, Deaths and Marriages Registration Amendment Act

2007 commenced on assent.
