Commencement Proclamation

under the

Marine Safety Amendment Act 2008 No 59

JAMES JACOB SPIGELMAN, Lieutenant-Governor I, the Honourable James Jacob Spigelman AC, Lieutenant-Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Marine Safety Amendment Act 2008, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 1 August 2008 as the day on which that Act (except Schedule 1 [13]–[19] and [23]–[48]) commences.

Explanatory note

The object of this Proclamation is to commence the Marine Safety Amendment Act 2008 other than provisions of that Act dealing with the following matters:

(a)	amendments relating to marine safety licences,
(b)	amendments relating to regulation-making powers in respect of equipment and builders plates on vessels,
(c)	amendments relating to pilotage.
