Commencement Proclamation
under the
Aboriginal Land Rights Amendment Act 2006 No 111
MARIE BASHIR, Governor I, Professor Marie Bashir AC, CVO, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Aboriginal Land Rights Amendment Act 2006, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 1 July 2007 as the day on which the uncommenced provisions of that Act commence.

| Explanatory note |
The object of this Proclamation is to commence the uncommenced provisions of the Aboriginal Land Rights Amendment Act 2006, including provisions relating to the functions of Local Aboriginal Land Councils, establishing Boards of Local Aboriginal Land Councils and providing for sanctions for misbehaviour by staff and officers of Aboriginal Land Councils.
