Commencement Proclamation

under the

Fair Trading Amendment Act 2006 No 62

JAMES JACOB SPIGELMAN, Lieutenant-Governor I, the Honourable James Jacob Spigelman AC, Lieutenant-Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Fair Trading Amendment Act 2006, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 1 July 2007 as the day on which the uncommenced provisions of that Act commence.

Explanatory note

The object of this Proclamation is to commence the amendments to the Fair Trading Act 1987 set out in Schedule 1 [17]–[19] to the Fair Trading Amendment Act 2006. Those amendments concern the assertion of the right to payment for unsolicited goods or services, for the unsolicited making of an entry in a directory or for unauthorised advertisements.
