Independent Commission Against Corruption Amendment Act
2005 No 10

MARIE BASHIR, Governor I, Professor Marie Bashir AC, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Independent Commission Against Corruption Amendment Act 2005, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint:

(a)

1 June 2005 as the day on which sections 1–4 of, and Schedule 1 [2] (to the extent to which it inserts definitions of Inspector and officer of the Inspector into the Independent Commission Against Corruption Act 1988), [23] (to the extent to which it inserts sections 57A and 57E into that Act), [27], [59], [60] and [64] and Schedule 2.1 to, that Act commence, and

(b)

6 June 2005 as the day on which Schedule 1 [1], [4], [6]–[12], [15], [21], [30], [31], [37], [44]–[53], [55], [63], [65] and [66] and Schedule 2.6 to that Act commence.

Explanatory note
Explanatory note

The object of this proclamation is to commence the provisions of the Independent

Commission Against Corruption Amendment Act 2005 other than provisions relating to:

(a)

compulsory examinations and public inquiries (Schedule 1 [18] and various related and consequential amendments), and

(b)

functions of the Inspector of the Independent Commission Against Corruption and members of the staff of the Inspector (Schedule 1 [23] (other than sections 57A and 57E) and various related and consequential amendments), and

(c) annual reports (Schedule 1 [32]), and

(d)

extending the provisions of the Police Integrity Commission Act 1996 relating to police officers to other members of NSW Police (Schedule 2.8).
