I, Professor Marie Bashir AC, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 (2) of the National Competition Policy Health and Other Amendments (Commonwealth Financial Penalties) Act 2004, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 21 July 2004 as the day on which Schedules 1 and 2 to that Act commence.

Explanatory note

The object of this Proclamation is to commence Schedules 1 and 2 to the National Competition Policy Health and Other Amendments (Commonwealth Financial Penalties) Act 2004. Schedules 1 and 2 amend the Dentists Act 1989 and the Dental Practice Act 2001 to remove restrictions on the persons or bodies who may employ dentists or in association with whom dentists may practise and to prohibit employers of dentists from directing or inciting them to engage in misconduct.
