Proclamation declaring regulations

may be made in respect of natural gas

under the

Energy Administration Act 1987

MARIE BASHIR, Governor.

WHEREAS it appears that the available supply of natural gas is or is likely to become less than is sufficient for the reasonable requirements of the community:

Therefore, I, Professor Marie Bashir AC, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 24 of the Energy Administration Act 1987, do, by this my Proclamation, declare that, on and after 1 February 2004, the provisions of section 24 of the Energy Administration Act 1987 have effect in respect of natural gas, that is to say, a substance:

(a)

which is in a gaseous state at standard temperature and pressure and which consists of naturally occurring hydrocarbons, or a naturally occurring mixture of hydrocarbons and non-hydrocarbons, the principal constituent of which is methane, and

(b) which has been processed to be suitable for consumption.

30 days from the date of its publication in the Gazette.
