Proclamation declaring regulations
may be made in respect of natural gas
under the
Energy Administration Act 1987
JAMES JACOB SPIGELMAN, Lieutenant-Governor.
WHEREAS it appears that the available supply of natural gas is likely to become less than is sufficient for the reasonable requirements of the community:
Therefore, I, the Honourable James Jacob Spigelman, Lieutenant-Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 24 of the Energy Administration Act 1987, do, by this my Proclamation, declare that, on and after the date of publication in the Gazette of this my Proclamation, the provisions of section 24 of the Energy Administration Act 1987 have effect in respect of natural gas, that is to say, a substance:
| (a) | which is in a gaseous state at standard temperature and pressure and which consists of naturally occurring hydrocarbons, or a naturally occurring mixture of hydrocarbons and non-hydrocarbons, the principal constituent of which is methane, and |
| (b) | which has been processed to be suitable for consumption. |

This Proclamation (unless sooner revoked) continues in force for the period of
30 days from the date of its publication in the Gazette.
