Proceeds of Crime Regulations 2(Amendment)

I, THE ADMINISTRATOR of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, make the following Regulations under the Proceeds of Crime Act 1987.

1.   Amendment

1.1   The Proceeds of Crime Regulations are amended as set out in these Regulations.

[NOTE: These Regulations commence on gazettal: see Acts Interpretation Act 1901, s. 48.]

2.   Regulation 16 (Law enforcement projects—prescribed law enforcement agencies)

2.1   Omit the regulation, substitute:

“16.

For the purposes of the definition of ‘law enforcement project’ in subsection 34D (3) of the Act, each of the following law enforcement agencies is prescribed:

  • (a)

    the Attorney-General’s Department;

  • (b)

    AUSTRAC;

  • (c)

    the Australian Customs Service;

  • (d)

    the Australian Federal Police;

  • (e)

    the Australian Institute of Criminology;

  • (f)

    the Australian Securities Commission;

  • (g)

    the Australian Taxation Office;

  • (h)

    the Department of Immigration and Ethnic Affairs;

  • (i)

    the National Crime Authority;

  • (j)

    the Office of the DPP;

  • (k)

    the Office of the Insurance and Superannuation Commissioner;

  • (l)

    the Trade Practices Commission.”.
