Her Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Private Hospitals and Day Procedure Centres Act 1988.

Explanatory note

The Private Hospitals and Day Procedure Centres Act 1988 provides for the licensing and control of private hospitals and day procedure centres. Section 3 of the Act defines a day procedure centre as premises at which any patient is admitted and discharged on the same day for such medical, surgical or other treatment, and in such circumstances, as may be prescribed by the regulations. Section 13 of the Act provides that for the purposes of the Act there are to be those classes of day procedure centres as may be prescribed by the regulations.

The objects of this Regulation are:

(a)

to prescribe premises at which any patient is admitted and discharged on the same day for treatment that involves the multidisciplinary care and treatment of children who are less than 5 years of age for early childhood conditions relating to developmental, behavioural, feeding or sleeping disorders as day procedure centres within the meaning of the Act, and

(b) to prescribe such day procedure centres as a class of day procedure centre.

Explanatory note

This Regulation is made under the Private Hospitals and Day Procedure Centres Act 1988, including the definition of day procedure centre in section 3, section 13 and section 55 (the general regulation making-power).

    This Regulation is the Day Procedure Centres Amendment (Licensing)
    Regulation 2001.

  2. Amendment of Day Procedure Centres Regulation 1996

    The Day Procedure Centres Regulation 1996 is amended in the manner set out in Schedule 1.
