Private Health Insurance (Prostheses) Amendment Rules 2008 (No.1)
I, VERONICA HANCOCK, delegate of the Minister for Health and Ageing, make these Rules under item 4 of the table in section 333-20 of the Private Health Insurance Act 2007.

These Rules are the Private Health Insurance (Prostheses) Amendment Rules 2008 (No.1).
Commencement
These Rules commence on 8 July 2008.
Amendment of the Schedule to the Private Health Insurance (Prostheses) Rules 2008 (No.1)
These Rules amend the Schedule to the Private Health Insurance (Prostheses) Rules 2008 (No.1) dated 20 June 2008 to commence on 8 July 2008, as set out below:
3.1Part A – Prostheses, at page 39 of 837, after Billing Code PM057, insert a subheading Medtronic Australasia Pty Ltd. After this subheading, under the heading “Billing Code” insert MC256; under the heading “Product Name” insert “Pressure Pulse Generator Meniett 20”; under the heading “Description” insert “Composition – Polycarbonate”; under the heading “Size” insert “One size only”; under the heading “Minimum Benefit” insert $5,060.00; and under the heading “Notations” insert “To be claimed only where medical therapy such as lifestyle (general health assessment and stress reduction) and oral medications (diuretics, antiemetics, anti-vertigo and steroids) have been unsuccessful”.
3.2Part A – Prostheses, at page 77 of 837, for the Billing Code JJ004, under the heading “Minimum Benefit” delete $20.87 and insert $21.00: and under the heading “Maximum Benefit” delete $21.00.
3.3Part A – Prostheses, at page 131 of 837, after Billing Code LM017 insert the heading Prosthesis, Bowel Sphincter; after this heading, insert a subheading Endotherapeutics Pty Ltd. After this subheading, under the heading “Billing Code” insert ET041; under the heading “Product Name” insert “PTP Implants”; under the heading “Description” insert “PTP Implants are solid, irregularly textured medical grade Polydimethyisiloxane Elastomer implants suspended in a hydrogel carrier”; under the heading “Size” insert “One size only”; and under the heading “Minimum Benefit” insert $9,200.00.
