This instrument is the Private Health Insurance (Medical Devices and Human Tissue Products) Amendment Rules (No. 1) 2023.

(1) Each provision of this instrument specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

This instrument is made under item 4 of the table in section 333‑20 of the Private Health Insurance Act 2007.

Schedule 1Amendments

Subsection 17(2)

Omit “$5,460”, substitute “$4,090”.

Subsection 18(2)

Repeal the subsection, substitute:

1. (2)

   The economic assessment fee is:

   1. (a)

      if the simple fee applies (see subsection (3))—$8,940; or

   2. (b)

      if the complex fee applies (see subsection (4))—$17,080; or

   3. (c)

      if the other fee applies (see subsection (5))—$27,940.

Subsection 19(3)

Omit “$4,670”, substitute “$3,300”.

Subsection 20(4)

Omit “business”.
