These Rules are the
Private Health Insurance (Data Provision) Rules 2015 .
These Rules commence on 1 July 2015.
These Rules revoke the
Private Health Insurance (Data Provision) Rules 2013 .
In these Rules:
Act means thePrivate Health Insurance Act 2007 .
HCP from Hospital to Insurers means the protocol set out in the document approved by the First Assistant Secretary of the Acute Care Division of the Department of Health on 25th April 2015 which consists of “Data Specifications (HCP)” and “Explanatory Notes (HCP)”.
HCP1 Data from Insurers to the Department means the protocol set out in the document approved by the First Assistant Secretary of the Acute Care Division of the Department of Health on 25th April 2015 which consists of “Data Specifications (HCP1)” and “Explanatory Notes (HCP1)”.
Private Hospital Data Bureau from Hospital to the Department means the protocol set out in the document approved by the First Assistant Secretary of the Acute Care Division of the Department of Health on 25th April 2015 which consists of “Data Specifications (Private Hospital Data Bureau)” and “Explanatory Notes (Private Hospital Data Bureau)”.
Note : Terms used in these Rules have the same meaning as in the Act ―see section 13 of theLegislative Instruments Act 2003 . These terms include:health benefits fund
private health insurer
(1) For section 172-10 of the Act, the kinds of information, relating to the treatment of insured persons, that private health insurers are to give to the Secretary of the Department are the kinds of information specified in:
(a) HCP Data from Hospital to Insurers;
(b) HCP1 Data from Insurers to the Department; and
(c) Private Hospital Data Bureau from Hospital to the Department.
(2) For the purposes of interpreting the kinds of information to be provided with respect to “Data Specifications (HCP)”, reference must be made to “Explanatory Notes (HCP)”.
(3) For the purposes of interpreting the kinds of information to be provided with respect to “Data Specifications (HCP1)”, reference must be made to “Explanatory Notes (HCP1)”.
(4) For the purposes of interpreting the kinds of information to be provided with respect to “Data Specifications (Private Hospital Data Bureau)”, reference must be made to “Explanatory Notes (Private Hospital Data Bureau)”.
