1.Name of Rules

These Rules are the Private Health Insurance (Complying Product) Amendment Rules 2016 (No. 6).

2.Commencement

This instrument commences on the day after registration.

3.Amendment of the Private Health Insurance (Complying Product) Rules 2015

The Schedule amends the Private Health Insurance (Complying Product) Rules 2015 as amended.

[1]Part 2, Paragraph 8A(3)

Delete subparagraph 8A(3) and substitute:

(3) In this rule:

nursing-home type patienthas thesamemeaningas in thePrivate Health Insurance (Benefit Requirements) Rules, made under section 333-20 of the Act, as in force from time to time.

patient contribution, for each day on which the patient is a nursing-home type patient at the hospital, means:

  1. (a)

    In relation to a nursing-home type patient at a public hospital, the following amount for the State or Territory in which the hospital is located:

  2. (i)

    Australian Capital Territory - $57.85;

  3. (ii)

    New South Wales - $58.05;

  4. (iii)

    Northern Territory - $57.85;

  5. (iv)

    Queensland - $58.05;

  6. (v)

    South Australia - $58.05;

  7. (vi)

    Tasmania - $58.05;

  8. (vii)

    Victoria - $58.05;

  9. (viii)

    Western Australia - $58.05;

  10. (b)

    In relation to a nursing-home type patient at a private hospital, $58.05
