An Act to amend the Private Health Establishments Act 1982 as a consequence of, and in connection with, the enactment of the Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Establishments Act 1987, [Assented to 16 June 1987J

BE it enacted by the Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly of New South Wales in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows;

Short title

1, This Act may be cited as the “Private Health Establishments

(Amendment) Act 1987”.

Commencement

2, (1) Sections 1 and 2 shall commence on the date of assent to this

Act.

(2) Except as provided by subsection ( I), this Act shall commence on the day appointed and notified under section 2 (2) of the Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Establishments Act 1987.

Amendment of Act No. 130, 1982

3, The Private Health Establishments Act 1982 is amended in the

manner set forth in Schedule 1.

AMENDMENTS TO THE PRIVATE HEALTH ESTABLISHMENTS

ACT 1982

(1) Section 4(1), definition of “nursing home”—

(a) From paragraph (e), omit “or” where lastly occurring,

(b) At the end of paragraph (f), insert:

; or

(g) a residential rehabilitation establishment licensed under the Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Establishments Act 1987;

(2) Section 4 (I), definition of “private hospital”—

(a) From paragraph (c), omit “or” where lastly occurring.

(b) At the end of paragraph (d), insert:

(e) a residential rehabilitation establishment licensed under the Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Establishments Act 1987;
