PRIVACY AND PERSONAL INFORMATION PROTECTION
ACT 1998 No 133—PROCLAMATION

I, the Honourable Gordon Samuels AC, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 1 July 1999 as the day on which Division 2 of Part 3, and sections 62 and 63, of that Act commence.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
The object of this Proclamation is to commence provisions of the Act:
| (a) | relating to the requirement for public sector agencies to prepare and implement privacy management plans, and |
| (b) | that contain offences relating to the corrupt disclosure and use of personal information by public sector officials and to the supply of personal information that has been obtained unlawfully. |
