I, Rear Admiral PETER ROSS SINCLAIR, A.C., Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Prisons (Amendment) Act 1993, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 14 January 1994 as the day on which that Act (except Schedules 1 (4), 2 (3) and 4 (16)) commences.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Proclamation is to commence all provisions of the Prisons (Amendment) Act 1993 except certain savings and transitional provisions in Schedules 1 (4), 2 (3) and 4 (16) relating to the Serious Offenders Review Board. the segregation of prisoners, Official Visitors and the management of prisons under submanagement agreements that commenced on assent.
