PROCLAMATION

NEW SOUTH WALES

I, the Honourable Gordon Samuels AC, Governor of the State of New

South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Prisons (Amendment) Act 1988, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 22 March 1996 as the day on which Schedule 2 (20) (e) to that Act commences.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Proclamation is to commence a provision amending the Prisons Act 1952 to enable regulations to be made in relation to the distribution and use of condoms in prisons and prison complexes.
