I ,Rear Admiral PETER ROSS SINCLAIR, A.C., Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Prisons (Amendment) Act 1988, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 18 February 1994 as the day on which Schedule 2 (20) (c) to that Act, and section 3 of that Act in its application to that item, commence.

EX PLAN ATO R Y NO TE

The object of this Proclamation is to commence that part of the Prisons (Amendment) Act 1988 which inserts section 50 ( 1 ) (d3) in the Prisons Act 1952. That provision will enable regulations to be made with respect to the expenditure of money within prisons and prison complexes by prisoners.
