PRISONS (AMENDMENT) ACT.

1 . This Act may be cited as the " Prisons (Amend­

ment) Act, 1 9 1 8 . " '

2 . The following section is inserted, and shall be read next after section nineteen of the Prisons Act,

1 8 9 9 : —

19A. Every person who conveys or attempts to convey any letter or document, or any article what­ ever into or out of any prison, in contravention of

any regulation made under this Act, shall on con­

viction be liable to a penalty not exceeding ten

pounds.
