AN ACT to amend the Prisons Act, 1903-1963, and

the Prisons Act Amendment Act, 1963.

[Assented to 28th October, 1964.]

BE it enacted by the Queen's Most ExcellentMajesty, by and with the advice and consent

of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Prisons ggr:iattli,m.

amended. 2. Subsection (2) of section thirty-four of the principal Act is repealed and re-enacted as follows

(2) In addition to such punishment to forfeit remission of sentence earned under the regulations or regulations made under any other Act in respect of any period of imprison- ment not exceeding fourteen days served by the prisoner. .

amended. 3. Section thirty-six of the principal Act is

amended

(a)	by adding after the word, "inquire" in line four, the words, "in a summary way";
(b)	by adding after the word, "labour" being the last word in paragraph (5), the following passage

c‘; or

(5a) To be sentenced to any term of imprisonment not exceeding six months, the term to be cumulative upon any term or terms of imprison- ment that the offender is then undergoing, or liable to undergo;" and

(c) by repealing and re-enacting paragraph (6) as follows

(6) To forfeit, in addition to any such punishment, remission of sentence earned under the regulations or regulations made under any other Act in respect of any period of imprisonment not exceeding twelve months served by the prisoner. .

amended.	Act, 1963 is amended by substituting for the
numeral, "II" in line two, the numeral, "III".
