Primary Producers'Co-operative AssociationsAct Amdt Act 1981, No. 5 21 BE IT ENACTED by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:- 1. Short title and citation . (1) This Act may be cited as the Primary Producers' Co-operative Associations Act Amendment Act 1981. (2) In this Act the Primary Producers' Co-operative Associations Act1923-1979 is referred to as the Principal Act. (3) The Principal Act as amended by this Act may be cited as the Primary Producers' Co-operative Associations Act1923-1981. 2. Amendment of s. 3. Interpretation . Section 3 of the Principal Act is amended by, in subsection (1)- (a) inserting after the definition " Prescribed " the following definition:- ""Primary produce " includes fish; "; and (b) in the definition of " Primary producer "- (i) omitting the word " and " appearing at the end of paragraph (f) and substituting the word " or "; and (ii) inserting after paragraph (f) the following paragraph:- (fa) Fisherman, being a person who is the holder of- (i) a master fisherman's licence; (ii) a marine products factory licence; or (iii) a transporting vessel licence, under the Fisheries Act1976; and ". 3. Amendment of s. 6. Objects of associations . Section 6 of the Principal Act is amended by, in subsection (I)- (a) in paragraph (iv)- (i) inserting after the word " agricultural " the word ", fishing "; and (ii) inserting after the word " farming " the words " and fishing "; (b) in paragraph (viii) inserting after the word " farming " the words "and fishing "; and (c) in paragraph (ix) inserting after the word " farming " the words " and fishing ". 4. Amendment of s. 10. Submission of application to Minister and registration . Section 10 of the Principal Act is amended by, in subsection (1), inserting after the words " inconsistent with the provisions of this the words " or any other ". 5. Amendment of s. 16. Amendment of rules. Section 16 of the Principal Act is amended by, in paragraph (3), inserting after the words 11 contrary to the provisions of this " the words " or any other ".

Section 19 of the Principal Act is amended by, in the proviso to subsection (2), inserting after the word " farming " the words " or fishing ". 7. Amendment of s. 25C. Conversion of society or company into association . Section 25c of the Principal Act is amended by, in subsection (5) (b), inserting after the words " inconsistent with the provisions of this " the words " or any other ". 8. Amendment of s. 25D. Amalgamation of societies and associations. Section 25D of the Principal Act is amended by, in subsection (4) (b), inserting after the words " inconsistent with the provisions of this " the words " or any other ".
