Primary Industries Levies and Charges Collection (National Residue Survey—Meat Chicken) Regulations

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council and under section 4 of the Acts Interpretation Act 1901, make the following Regulations under the Primary Industries Levies and Charges Collection Act 1992 and the National Residue Survey Administration Act 1992.

Citation

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Primary Industries Levies and Charges Collection (National Residue Survey—Meat Chicken) Regulations.

Commencement

2. These Regulations commence on 1 July 1993.

Interpretation

3. In these Regulations, unless the contrary intention appears:

“Meat Chicken Levy Collection Regulations” means the Primary Industries Levies and Charges Collection (Meat Chicken) Regulations2;

“NRS Administration Act” means the National Residue Survey Administration Act 1992;

“NRS Levy Act” means the National Residue Survey (Meat Chicken) Levy Act 1992;

“NRS levy” means levy imposed on meat chickens by the NRS Levy Act and payable under section 9 of the NRS Administration Act.

4. The NRS Levy Act is prescribed for the purposes of the definition of “levy” in section 4 of the Collection Act.

What is the rate of NRS levy?

5. For the purposes of section 9 (2) of the NRS Administration Act, the rate of NRS levy payable on meat chickens is 0.02 cents per head.

 

When is NRS levy due for payment?

6. For the purposes of section 6 of the Collection Act, NRS levy payable on meat chickens is due for payment on the last day for lodging a return for the chickens under the Meat Chicken Levy Collection Regulations.

Additional information in returns

7. In addition to complying with the Meat Chicken Levy Collection Regulations, a return lodged by a producer under those Regulations must include particulars of the total amount of NRS levy payable by the producer for the meat chickens to which the return relates.
